Yes! Sustaira's Carbon Accounting Application features pre-built calculators based on emission factors distributed by the EPA and used in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. This application and calculators are created with the flexibility to connect to other emission factor data sources and the ability to create custom calculators, the application handles calculations across all scopes. The GHG Protocol establishes comprehensive global standardized frameworks to measure and manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from private and public sector operations, value chains and mitigation actions. The GHG protocol is the world's most widely used greenhouse gas accounting standards, which is why Sustaira is also using them. These standards are designed to provide a framework for businesses, governments, and other entities to measure and report their greenhouse gas emissions in ways that support their missions and goals. When talking about Carbon Accounting, Scope 1 emissions are from owned or operated assets (for example, the fumes from the tailpipes of a company’s fleet of vehicles). Scope 2 emissions are from purchased energy. Lastly, Scope 3 emissions are from everything else (suppliers, distributors, product use, etc.) this includes waste, employee travel, end of product life cycle, and more.
